Become a Member of Greater Union Baptist Church

Welcome Home!

We are excited that you are considering becoming a part of the Greater Union Baptist Church family. Joining a church is more than placing your name on a membership roll—it is making a commitment to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ, worship with other believers, and serve God by serving others.

At Greater Union, our mission is to Know Christ, Grow in Christ, Serve Christ, and Share Christ. We would be honored to walk alongside you on your spiritual journey.

The Greatest Decision You'll Ever Make

Before joining any church, the most important step is beginning a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

God's Plan of Salvation

1. Recognize Your Need for a Savior

The Bible teaches that everyone has sinned and falls short of God's perfect standard.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
— Romans 3:23

2. Understand God's Love

Even while we were separated from God by sin, He demonstrated His incredible love by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us.

"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
— Romans 5:8

3. Believe in Jesus Christ

Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and rose again so that everyone who believes in Him can receive forgiveness and eternal life.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
— John 3:16

4. Confess Jesus as Lord

Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ and a personal commitment to follow Him.

"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
— Romans 10:9

5. Begin Following Christ

Receiving Christ is the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith, obedience, worship, and spiritual growth.

As followers of Jesus, we are called to:

  • Worship faithfully
  • Study God's Word
  • Pray regularly
  • Love one another
  • Share the Gospel
  • Serve others with our gifts
  • Live as faithful disciples of Christ
